Hi - my name is Matthew Harding, or, in this situation I'm better known as DJ Matti Matt.I am the composer of two best selling techno music recordings -

I am a musician, DJ, producer, performer, and overall music lover. I have been playing keyboards, synthesizers, piano, saxophone, woodwind and vocals for more than thirty years. Since 1999, I have been a DJ creating some of the best trance, techno, house, and dance jams you have ever heard. I can even play a few Wiggles songs on the guitar....
I have played in many bands and written many songs over the years of many different varieties and styles. I love playing music and I love the entire recording process.
As luck would have it, a little while ago I was involved in a project that required me to come up with a few Techno Tunes. I wrote and recorded three songs, was hooked, and thus DJ Matti Matt was born.
I thought to myself, "Hey, these songs sound all right !!" A few more songs emerged, and suddenly I had an album - which I imaginatively called "DJ Matti Matt is in Da House" - and I was ready to take the world by storm.
Then, the all-important CD cover artwork needed some thought..... so, I hitched up my Calvin Kleins, lowered my jeans, and stood in front of my shed at home while my wife took the pseudo-gangsta photo. My nosey neighbours were a little confused. :-)
Please don't judge a book (or a CD, for that matter) by it's cover - especially with my ugly head on it !
At the time, I listened back to my new Techno album, and realised that this was a lot of fun. And so was the naming of my techno dance songs.... I basically named the songs after what I felt they sounded like.....

So - I kept writing and recording. Just as suddenly, I had another album..... the finishing touches for this one required another excuse to dress up....
I have been asked many times what my tools of the trade are - what do I use to make my Techno Music. For those of you who are into the "Gear List", my aging Roland JV1000 keyboard is my keyboard of choice. The onboard sounds on this beast are sonically fantastic. I use eMagic's Logic Audio (an older version) on my windows PC, along with several tasty little VST plugin instruments by Spectrasonics and Native Instruments. My Lexicon Lambda external sound card handles all of the ins and outs quite nicely. And I love my Sony MDR CD750 headphones, which I use more often as monitors for mixing than I should !

Techno Music, House Music, Dance Music and a lot of Electronic Music in general is all based around samples and loops - bite sized pieces of sound, usually a just a few seconds worth.
